ENTP. The Inventor

If you are an ENTP you might find yourself frequently coming up with new ideas about how things could work. The tried and true ways of doing things might be dependable but they're also boring, limiting, and could stand improvement. You are sparked by improving the status quo. Others might say, "If it's not broken, don't fix it," but you're more likely to say, "If it's not broken, break it." Once you test the limits, you'll find out how it works, how it breaks, and then you'll see how it can be improved. Everything can be improved and should be improved.

Your mind works quickly, entertaining one idea after the next. You're often able to see patterns that others miss and thus you may be able to point out potential failures in systems that would otherwise go unnoticed. Similarly, you also readily see potential solutions and remedies for common problems before others even recognize there is a problem.

Once you see a solution, it's hard not to act. It's like a lightning strike. Your energy is bursting and concentrated on the better future that is almost within your grasp. Since you see so many solutions, so frequently you are often a better starter than finisher. Inventions often need detailed and repetitive work in order to be brought to fruition. It might be better to delegate this kind of work so that you can keep on envisioning more solutions.

Your love for bringing up new connections, theories and constructs might lend itself to a unique and surprising sense of humor. As George Carlin once said, "Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things."

You might also love a good debate. It might not even matter which side you're on. You could argue one side masterfully, switch, and argue the other side just as well. After all, everything is relative including logic.

Your approach to developing new ideas is rarely linear. You'd rather test and discover as you go, letting each test and discovery lead you to new horizons. What you're after is the truth, which is not controlled but rather revealed.

Social norms are often either entertaining or irritating to you because there is often no apparent logic to them at all. Why do people lie in order to be polite? Isn't it better to just say what's on your mind?
