ISFP. The Artist
There is no other type that feels as deeply into the sensory world as the ISFP. If you're an ISFP, every texture, sound, color, smell, and taste has a feeling to it that can't be ignored. You pay close attention to the world around you and how it affects your feelings.
You may be moved to sculpt the sensory world around you into a presentation that speaks authentically back to you. ISFPs are known to have a well developed aesthetic sense.
Tradition is probably ignored, except perhaps as a data point. Authentic and original expression are favored. Something exciting is better than routine. It's better not to fit in than to be bored or to betray your values. Conforming for its own sake is painful and pointless, probably too painful.
You tend to be impulsive and tactical, following your heart and gut instincts in the moment. This is how you do your best work.
You are a pragmatic creative. You work practically with what exists. You don't get lost in dreams but you have strong ideals and often have lots of ideas.
Right behind the stimulus of the sensory world is a deeper meaning that ties it all together. There is a symbolic reality behind the details that unifies and organizes what is commonly experienced. The symbolic element can elevate the beauty of the material element.
Early in life boredom is avoided at almost any cost. Adventure is needed. You must feel, firsthand, the impact of the world around you. Although you are mostly introverted, likely with fewer and deeper friendships than the world's extraverts, you do value new and novel stimulus more than most other introverts.
ISFP types tend to add an artistic flair to their endeavors. This could be actual painting and drawing. Other examples might include music, cooking, sports, acting, gardening, teaching, architecture, or engineering. ISFP types are typically good in emergencies and kind hearted which leads some to the medical field.
Although ISFP types tend to focus on the practical details of life, they can also be very intuitive.
They tend to be laid back, approachable, and warm which often makes them popular.
